From Caffe Nero store No. 001 Frith Street to
Caffe Nero store No. 834 Heathrow T2 Departures
Alan's Nero Tour
began in 2014 while on a holiday in the North East of England, Wendy
and I travelled by bus from Newcastle to Middlesbrough to see the
Transporter Bridge, after a lengthy walk we eventually found out
that the bridge, was sadly closed for refurbishment, so it was a
long trek back to the town, we were in the need for a coffee break.
We found Caffe Nero and discovered the lovely ambience, friendly
barista's and enjoyed the excellent coffee, which made up for the
earlier disappointment. On the counter they had a display box with
pocket size customer feedback cards, the store name, location and
store number was printed on the card, I picked one up, then on visiting
other Caffe Nero's I realised that each Caffe Nero had their own
unique feedback card, I started to collect these in a similar way
that I had collected cigarette cards and tea cards in the past.
Sadly in the past few years the unique feedback cards have been
discontinued, but I have a very interesting collection of feedback
cards in a variety of different designs which are a reminder of
the earlier days of my Alan's Nero Tour. Since that day at Caffe
Nero at Middlesbrough in 2014, travelling by public transport (I
do not drive a car!), I have visited 466 different Caffe Nero coffee
shops (so far) and have made many friends on facebook and collected
an assortment of Caffe Nero publicity, takeaway cups and other items
as souvenirs. Alan's Nero Tour was suspended for 15 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic
situation as Alan (The Legend) being 78 years young,at that time
and a type 2 diabetic shielding at home. The good news is that Alan's
Nero Tour resumed on 29th May 2021, Visits since 2021 are listed
